What is Al Ready ASEAN?
About the Programme
AI Ready ASEAN is a regional programme led by the ASEAN Foundation with support from Google.org.
The programme aims to strengthen AI literacy across all ten ASEAN Member States by equipping youth, educators, parents, and communities with foundational knowledge and skills to understand and use AI responsibly.
AI Ready ASEAN promotes awareness of AI concepts, practical applications, and ethical considerations, ensuring that learners are prepared to engage with AI technologies in education, work, and daily life.
Local Implementation Partner
In Lao PDR, the programme is locally implemented by XM Technovator as the Local Implementation Partner.
Why It Matters
As AI becomes more present in education and daily life, access to basic AI literacy remains uneven.
AI Ready ASEAN helps bridge this gap by providing inclusive, beginner-friendly learning opportunities that promote ethical and informed engagement with AI technologies.
What the Programme Delivers
- Training of Trainers: Capacity building to ensure quality delivery and long-term sustainability.
- Hour of Code: A one-hour introductory session building basic AI awareness.
- In-Depth AI Training: A structured 12-hour programme covering AI concepts, applications, ethics, and hands-on projects.
- Schools & Institutes Engagement: Supporting institutions to expand AI literacy at scale
Timeline
- Hour of Code: through February 2026.
- In-Depth AI Training: March – September 2026.
Programme delivery is supported by defined milestones, documentation, and reporting aligned with ASEAN Foundation guidelines.
